About BRICS Summit 2025

BRICS Summit is an intergovernmental organization comprising ten countries Brazil , Russia , India ,
China ,Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia ,Indonesia ,Iran And the UAE.
The acronym “BRICS” was initially formulated in 2001 by economist Jim O’Neill, of Goldman
Sachs, in a report on growth prospects for the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China – which
together represented a significant share of the world’s production and population.
In 2006, the four countries initiated a regular informal diplomatic coordination, with annual
meetings of Foreign Ministers at the margins of the General Debate of the UN General Assembly
(UNGA).
This successful interaction led to the decision that the dialogue was to be carried out at the level of
Heads of State and Government in annual Summits.
The objectives of BRICS Summit include strengthening economic, political, and social cooperation among its members, as well as increasing the influence of Global South countries in international
governance.

BRICS Summit 2025 :

In resent year this was the 17th BRICS summit 2025 from 6th- 7th in Reo de Janero ,Brazil and the theme was “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for a More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance”.
In this summit organization release the declaration and also refer BRICS chairship 2026 to India ,
means 18th BRICS summit held in India .

In this summit the leaders of countries discussed in various area and also highlight the importance
of BRICS Summit 2025 like –
Strengthening Multilateralism and Reforming Global Governance :
The organization declared his commitment to reforming and improving global governance by
promoting a more just, equitable, agile, effective, efficient, responsive, representative, legitimate,
democratic and accountable international and multilateral system in the spirit of extensive
consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits.
And also the organization reaffirm that the 2025 World Bank Shareholding Review, co-chaired by
Brazil,is a critical tool to strengthen multilateralism and enhance the legitimacy of the World Bank
Group, as a better, bigger, and more effective development finance institution. In line with the Lima
principles, we continue to advocate for the increased voice and representation of developing
countries, underpinned by a shareholding realignment that corrects their historic under
representation. And as well organization will endeavor to ensure that tackling poverty and
inequality, including through job creation, in the challenging context of climate change and
digitalization, remains central to the World Bank Group’s mission.
And also in the declaration they says about AI , “we recognize that Artificial Intelligence (AI)
represents a milestone opportunity to boost development towards a more prosperous future. To
achieve that goal, we underscore that global governance of AI should mitigate potential risks and
address the needs of all countries, including those of the Global South. A collective global effort is
needed to establish an AI governance that upholds our shared values, addresses risks, builds trust,
and ensures broad and inclusive international collaboration and access, in accordance with
sovereign laws, including capacity building for developing countries, with the United Nations at its
core. To support a constructive debate towards a more balanced approach, we agreed on the BRICS
Leaders’ Statement on the Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence, which aims to foster
responsible development, deployment, and use of AI technologies for sustainable development and
inclusive growth, in compliance with national regulatory frameworks, the UN Charter and
respecting the sovereignty of States.”
Promoting Peace, Security and International Stability:
In this context BRICS Summit 2025 express concern about ongoing conflicts in many parts of the world and the current state of polarization and fragmentation in the international order. They express alarm at the current trend that has seen a critical increase in global military spending, to the detriment of the
provision of adequate financing for development to developing countries. And also says , they
advocate for a multilateral approach that respects diverse national viewpoints and positions on
crucial global issues, including sustainable development, the eradication of hunger and poverty and
contributing to the global response to climate change, while expressing deep concern over attempts
to link security with the climate change agenda.
BRICS Summit 2025  says about terrorism and also mentioned “Pahalgam Terror Attack” and says , we express strong condemnation of any acts of terrorism as criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their
motivation, whenever, wherever and by whomsoever committed. We condemn in the strongest
terms the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025, during which 26 people were
killed and many more injured. We reaffirm our commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms
and manifestations, including the cross-border movement of terrorists, terrorism financing and safe
havens.
Deepening International Economic, Trade and Financial Cooperation:
The organization welcome the results of the “Strategy for BRICS Economic Partnership 2025”.
The Strategy provided guidance and set the framework for the BRICS cooperation and
collaboration on sectoral developments, strategies, programs and roadmaps by members. They look
forward to the conclusion and implementation of the Strategy for BRICS Economic Partnership
2030, which will aim at consolidating mandates and guiding principles for the cooperation of the
BRICS on issues relating to Multilateral Trading System, Digital Economy, International Trade,
Financial Cooperation and Trade and Sustainable Development.As they commend the adoption of
the BRICS Trade and Sustainable Development Framework, they reaffirm our commitment to
strengthen cooperation in trade with a view to promoting inclusive growth and sustainable
development. They also reiterate the importance of ensuring that trade and sustainable development
policies are mutually supportive, and aligned with WTO rules.
Combating Climate Change and Promoting Sustainable, Fair and Inclusive Development:
In BRICS summit 2025   says in his declaration , to stress our commitment to uphold multilateralism as necessary to address challenges threatening our shared planet and future such as climate change. and alos says ,to resolve remain united in the pursuit of the purpose and goals of the Paris Agreement and the
objectives of the UNFCCC and call on all countries to uphold their existing commitment as Parties
to the UNFCCC and its Paris Agreement and to maintain and scale up their effort to combat climate
change.BRICS summit 2025 , further reaffirm our steadfast commitment, in pursuit of the objective of UNFCCC, to tackle climate change by strengthening the full and effective implementation of the Paris
Agreement, including its provisions related to mitigation, adaptation and the provision of means of
implementation to developing countries, reflecting equity and the principle of common but
differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities, in light of different national
circumstances. In this regard, BRICS summit 2025  express our full support to the Presidency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP-30, which will take place in
the city of Belem, in Brazil, highlighting the importance of action and cooperation on all pillars of
the UNFCCC as applicable considering each country’s membership and commitments thereunder.
BRICS summit 2025  also underscore our full commitment to a successful COP30 that will catalize progress in implementing the UNFCCC and its Paris Agreement. We welcome India’s Candidacy to host COP 33 in 2028.
Partnerships for the Promotion of Human, Social and Cultural Development:
BRICS remain committed to strengthening BRICS cooperation on population matters, because the
dynamics of population age structure change, and pose challenges as well as opportunities to socioeconomic development, particularly with regard to the rights and benefits of women and persons
with disabilities, youth development, employment and the future of work, urbanization, migration

In meeting India’s Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi give speech with greet and put some

Firstly, under BRICS summit 2025, our economic cooperation is progressing steadily. The BRICS Business Council and the BRICS Women Business Alliance have played a special role in this. Under Brazil’s presidency, special emphasis has been laid on reforms in the International Financial System. We
welcome this. And for New Development Bank to support development in global south , “demand drive
approach” for long term financial sustainability. Second for Agriculture he says , the BRICS Agricultural Research Platform, established in India, is a valuable initiative to enhance collaboration in agricultural research. It can become a medium for sharing research and best practices in topics such as agri-biotech, precision farming, and climate change adaptation Similarly, India has launched the ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ initiative to ensure nationwide access to academic journals. Similar efforts have been undertaken in other BRICS countries as well.
He propose that , we collectively explore the creation of a BRICS Science and Research Repository,
which could also serve as a valuable resource for the countries of the Global South.
Third he syas , we need to work together to make supply chains for critical minerals and technology
secure and reliable. It’s important to ensure that no country uses these resources for its own selfish
gain or as a weapon against others.
And finally he says , fourth suggestion is , in the 21st century, the progress and well-being of
people largely depends on technology, especially Artificial Intelligence. On one hand, AI can
greatly improve everyday life; while on the other hand, it also raises concerns about risks, ethics,
and bias. India’s approach and policy on this topic are clear: We see AI as a medium to enhance
human values and potential. Working on the mantra of “A.I. for All”, today we’re widely and
actively using AI in sectors like agriculture, health, education, governance in India.
Conclusion : BRICS Summit is the most important platform for south global countries and developing
countries for raise his assertion. And recently seeing the importance of BRICS multiple country
approaching to join BRICS . Last year BRICS expand itself and except approach to join BRICS and
now the organization became BRICS+ . As well more country in the row to join the organization .
And also India plays important role for developing countries to raise voice for them and that’s by
India immerge as a leader of developing countries .
